The Slieve Mish Mountains and the Stack’s Mountains are two famous mountain ranges to be found on this map. The Stacks Mountains are, for the most part, covered in forestry. The Slieve Mish Mountains are more barren, with Baurtregaum and Caherconree being some of the highest peaks.

The presence of the Atlantic Ocean has developed numerous beaches on this map including Derrymore Strand and Banna Strand.

The River Maine flows through Castleisland, before connecting with The Brown Flesk River, continues to Castlemaine and out into the Castlemaine Harbour.

The Seven Hogs, or The Magharee Islands, are a group of islands located off Rough Point, separating Tralee Bay and Brandon Bay.
